Okay, nobody expected the Blue Jays to sweep the Boston Red Sox this week. Even less people expected them to do it with clutch hitting. And even fewer expected it to come from Russy Adams. But two nights in a row, he hit 2 game winning hits. Last night, Adams made Papelbon his daddy by spanking a grand slam into right field.
Wow - what a great series. Great pitching, clutch hitting - what more could you ask for. HEY, why not do that the other 100 games of the season? So thanks to the Jays, now the dirty Yankees are only 1.5 games back of the Red Sox for the division title. Either way, it looks like it will be a Yankees/Red Sox ALCS regardless of which team wins the wild card or the division.
If the Blue Jays wanted to be REAL dicks, they'd sweep the Yankees too - giving the Tigers a shot at the wild card, but I honestly think the Jays will be lucky if they split the series.
