The REAL Reason for the Demotion

The entire Jays blogosphere is buzzing about why and how Shaun Marcum was sent to the minors. Mike Wilner has offered his two cents, the guys at Drunk Jays Fans have hazarded a guess, even the allmighty Tao. But now let’s get down to the nitty gritty of the real reason why Shaun Marcum got optioned down to Triple A Syracuse:

J.P. walked in on his wife getting nailed by Marcum. It’s as simple as that. J.P. couldn’t outright fire or let Marcum go, so as punishment Marcum is sent to the minors to think about what he has done. Think of it as a “sexual timeout” - whatever the hell that means.

But in all seriousness, these rumours about how Marcum needed an attitude adjustment and he was lipping off to management are complete bullshit. I was reading some of the comments on Wilner’s blog about how Marcum didn’t sign an autograph for some kids - do you really think that was the reason? I don’t think we are hearing the complete story, but any rumours that folks want to offer up in the meantime are all hearsay at this point. Except the one that I mentioned - that HAS to be true.
