Well, it wasn't the waterworks goodbye that Wayne Gretzky gave the Edmonton Oilers back in '88, but today Paul Godfrey said his goodbyes to the Toronto Blue Jays. Godfrey exits after 8 years as the President and CEO of Baseball Operations for the Toronto Blue Jays.
After seeing Godfrey's interview a few weeks back on Off the Record, I pretty much assumed that he would not be returning next year as president of the Jays. I'm not really sure how much this affects the Blue Jays, since it's J.P. Ricciardi that pretty much pulls the strings on all the day-to-day moves.
Paul I will miss your quasi half-beard, arms folded poses, and Tommy Hilfiger ties. So long, as best of luck in your future endeavors.
