For a while there, my Superbowl prophecy almost came true. I noticed something very interested happened during the game - the more I drank, the better the Cardinals started to play. So I didn’t start drinking heavily until the 4th quarter, but that’s when the Cards staged their comeback. Naturally, I assumed it was because of me. But like most drunks, I started to believe my own propaganda and it all came crashing down at the end.
Speaking of hangovers, the Jays scouting department might have been a little sauced on sake when they signed Ken Takahashi to a minor league deal. Over the last 2 years, he’s posted a 13-9 record with a 3.60 ERA with the Hiroshima Carp. Yes, carp. On the surface, that might not seem so bad, but here's the catch - Takahashi is turning 40 this year. Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t think the Jays need any Jamie Moyer-type pitchers on the team.
