Battle of the birds

By
I'd say that a 15-9 record is a pretty decent way for the Blue Jays to wrap up the month of April, don't you? Naysayers might argue that the Jays had a fairly easy schedule against their opponents in April, but 15 wins are 15 wins. It doesn't matter if they're against the Chicago White Sox or the Baltimore Orioles.

Speaking of which, tonight is the very first divisional matchup of the season against the O's. The Blue Jays return home after a 3-4 road swing through Chicago and Kansas City. May is the time of year where fans start to come out of hibernation, and hopefully they finally open the dome tonight for the first time this year.

Secondary story lines for tonight's game include Kevin Millar and Gregg Zaun possibly facing off against their old squads. Oddly enough, Millar and Zaun traded spaces in the facial hair department. The usually grizzled and bearded Zaun is now clean-cut, whereas Millar has left the shackles of Baltimore to gain facial hair freedom in Toronto.

I'll be liveblogging tonight's matchup over at The Score, so feel free to join me on my maiden voyage into the universe of live commentary.

  1. Good lord that picture of Zauny scares me.

  2. It is a little frightening, isn't it? Plus, he has that stupid "grade 6 picture day" smile on his face, which makes it even scarier.

  3. It's because the Orioles have a no-facial-hair dress code! Millar doesn't even look good in it; I think he's just basking in the opportunity to roll out of bed and not shave.

  4. You know it makes me oddly proud that the Jays don't have rules like that, If the players want a mohawk or go scruffy they can.

  5. Facial hair doesn't affect the way the player performs, despite what Orioles and Yankees management thinks. The power is all in the facial hair!
