Acid Flashback Friday: The Skydome Built in 2.5 Minutes

Not much preamble for this week's Acid Flashback Friday, but it's just a cool video of the Skydome being built in 2.5 minutes.

In actuality, it only took about a year and nine months for construction to be completed on the Skydome, but this time lapse video gives you an idea from what the project looked like from start to finish.

  1. All that construction yet they couldn't build a soul.

  2. Sniff sniff. Oh how I long for freezing my butt off at Exhibition Stadium. Stop being a wimp Jon.

SkyDome was home to two world series'. The building is full of memories. It was a feat of modern engineering! It's an incredible structure. Sorry it's not dilapidated enough for you think it has something as ridiculous as 'soul'.

  3. I agree. I'm getting pretty sick of people trashing the dome.

  4. Jon, I'll agree that compared to say Wrigley Field or Fenway Park there isn't as much tradition or personality at the Rogers Centre/Skydome, but when it first opened, the Skydome was a modern marvel of technology. People flocked there just to see the dome itself.

Over 20 years later, some of that magic has dissipated, but a winning team will definitely bring the fans back.
